RAL Space Test Facilities

RAL Space's thermal vacuum chambers subject satellites and instruments to extreme temperatures, typically -180°C to +150°C, which spacecraft could experience during missions in deep space. The facilities are available to the space community for vacuum bakeout, thermal vacuum and thermal balance testing.

The Electromagnetics Suite in the National Satellite Test Facility (NSTF) carries out electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and antenna measurements of satellites. It is shielded, anechoic chamber designed to accommodate satellites and payloads up to 7,000kg.
